Bloomberg Financial News and Jonathan D. Salant are reporting that according to an official aide, President-elect Barack Obama and his campaign raised over 750 million dollars in order to gain the White House with a victory over John McCain and the Republicans.
The monetary figures represent money that was raised from the inception of Barack Obama’s candidacy for the Presidency of the United States in February of 2007.
The article goes on to say that Obama out-raised McCain nearly 3-1 in the general election of 2008.
In the Presidential election of 2004, the two major candidates, George W. Bush and John Kerry, raised 648 million dollars combined.
